I felt guilty when I saw you felt guilted, but now I feel inspired! Look how many of us still read regularly!
I think if The Years of Facebook have taught me anything, it's that I still want a place where I can muse at some length, save things and come back to them (somehow I don't feel like the fb timeline "really" does this), range from quotidian to lyrical and in-between, and do all this in a sort of salon of trusted friends and compatriots. FB evolved into a medium where you sort of can't avoid friending everyone and (often literally) their mother. LJ, because it's now so clunky and old-school, feels like the place I go to actually hang out.
I was truly surprised to realize, when J and I were in Northampton and environs last week, ze met almost as many people I'd gotten to know on LJ (and hence after I left the Valley) as people I'd known there before I moved away.
