Andrew barely seemed to have the energy to even stand up, and when he answered the apartment buzzer, closely followed by just going back to the sofa to drop down heavily on it, Vanessa was left hovering there in the middle of the room, her handbag still slung over her shoulder as she looked at him in nothing but sheer concern. She had seen the relationship status change on Facebook after she finished a long, hard day at the clinic, so there wasn't a single moment of hesitation before she jumped in a cab and came right over here to see that Andrew was okay. But of course he wasn't going to be okay. His engagement had just spontaneously combusted, and when he answered the door to her right when she was just about to assume he wasn't home because he took so long, he looked like hell ( ... )

Why was he being invaded? No, seriously. Why the fuck was it that, whenever you just wanted to be alone to wallow in your own self-misery, you were suddenly invaded by people? He was barely even taking notice of the exchange at his door, his blue eyes locked numbly on the mens' diamond engagement ring lying pitifully in the middle of his glass coffee table all on its lonesome. He didn't remember much of the final exchange with Sam, but there were patches. There was lots of yelling, Sam accusing him of things, telling him he couldn't do this shit, and name-calling. Then he tossed the ring onto the coffee table and that's where it had been ever since. As soon as he walked out with his already-packed bag, and after the initial shock, Andrew just stormed out too, got back into a cab, and right back to the bar to drink himself catatonic ( ... )

Puck could understand Andrew's frustration. The last thing somebody wanted when they had a situation like this was for everyone to show up all up in your business. If everyone had shown up at Puck's the night before, he would've been pissed as all hell. He'd wanted Blaine, and nobody else, and had been lucky enough to get that needed time while Kurt was sleeping. But tonight, he was more into the idea of drinking, and heavily, and he figured if anyone needed a drink, it was probably Andrew. But seeing him now, Puck wasn't sure that a drink was what Andy needed at all. Probably more like a few days of uninterrupted sleep, and someone to talk to ( ... )

Well, if ever there was an awkward moment, this was it. Vanessa felt like a fart in an elevator standing there between Andrew and Oberon... Puck... whatever character it was from that Shakespeare play. She always hated Shakespeare, being more of a science girl. Either way, poor dude. Her minded wandered for a moment when she wondered how much the guy got picked on in school for his unfortunate name before she cleared her throat and shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "We're just here to see you're okay, Andy. Facebook's a bitch these days, you know. People actually care when they see stuff like 'Andrew Pearson is now single' crop up on their list. Especially if you're pathetic like me and work and Facebook are the entirety of one's social life..."

But she stopped, and sighed as she looked down at him. "You're not okay. I don't think anyone worried about you expected that you would be, so just let me clarify for a minute. I wanted to come... in case you didn't want to be alone. You shouldn't be alone right now..." And ( ... )
