A Genetic Opera?

So as everyone should know I am a fan of b-movies and the cult flicks that make parents think their kids will be cross dressers for watching. Mainstream puts out a few flicks I do like this is not something I deny, however, the truly favorite films of mine are the ones that are different from all the rest. The ones that bend a bit of reality ( Read more... )

BAH! I freaking love Mirror Mask! oooh. please tell me you have seen Tideland! It has Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Tilly in it, and was done by Terry Gilliam. GO WATCH IT! lol. I do not want kids, but I am strangely attached to the lil girls name in the movie so much that if I ever end up with a daughter I will probably name her the same. It is Jeliaza Rose. Though if I did I would always have to say it with an extreme southern accent...lol

I have actually not seen Tideland. I will have to check out. I like just about all things Jennifer Tilly so that alone makes it worth it, but to get such a good response from you means I have to check it out.

Okay... in something very odd I went to Netflix to add this to my queue and it was actually on the main page when I logged in... really weird, but it has been added.

ya. i love this movie. it does have alot of slow parts, and it is not gorey at all, but I really like it. How the whole thing is written from a little girls perspective, a childs mind, still so innocent... make sure u dont fastword through the pre-word with Gilliam, as most people do. Its a good set up for the movie, even if the last line comes off a lil pervy...lol
let me know what u think of it. :)

Repo looks awesome. Too bad the closest it's playing is about 6 hours away. And that only becasue I live 6 hours from NYC. "Let's limit our showings and have most of them in Claifornia!" Fuck 'em.

Curiosity makes me wonder if you heard of this prior to this post or not.

Yeah I am mad there is only one theatre showing it in this state for one night only and it is a small indie theatre so the place sold out almost instantly. I am dying to full ysee this film and have no idea when I will be able to.

Well, I might have gotten lucky and with some networking have found a midnight showing at Sunday that is hard to get into after the 10pm showing that is sold out. *crosses fingers* wish me luck
