The basement isn't actually any busier or more crowded than it would be on most days. It just sort of... seems that way. Maybe it's because instead of just hanging around passing the time, there's a sort of sense of urgency to several of the people in various places around the basement.
Half of Torchwood - the half that consists of Sam, Gwen, and Tosh - has taken over a table in the cafeteria. Tosh has her laptop, and there are a couple pieces of paper between Sam and Gwen, but mostly, it looks fairly innocuous. Never mind that when they speak to each other, their voices are pitched so they don't carry. They won't mind being interrupted, really, even if they do cut off any conversation whenever someone gets near enough to overhear them.
Grace is in the common room, curled up in a chair entirely too big for her with her wings half-wrapped around her and reading. The book, whatever it is, doesn't seem to be quite keeping her attention, as she keeps glancing up to the door, like she's expecting to see someone. Or hoping to see someone. She should be feeling better about the world now that no one's dying of plague. Funny how that's not the case.
And there's a former archangel prowling the hallways and making everyone nervous, because it rather looks like she's on the hunt. And in a way, she is. Romana is searching. Tay's been gone long enough that she's worried, and she knows that there have to be some wanderers around who have the ability to find her. It's just a matter of finding them.
We apologize to anyone who runs into her, for any reason. No one deserves an upset Romana. She's unstable enough on an ordinary day.
