Yesterday, Penny Widmore died in an abandoned warehouse. The warehouse had, to all appearances, been used for more than just Penny's murder, and if you want to keep a place like that... well, it was probably a mistake to leave the body of a basement resident there with a panic button.
Today, there's an explosion halfway across the city from the Conrad, at the exact site of that warehouse. It's a small explosion. No one was hurt, but the warehouse is now a smoldering heap of rubble, and the police haven't the faintest clue what caused it.
It's on the news, but not much. Chicago's almost getting used to minor disasters like this.
The Doctor wanders back into the lobby of the hotel some time after all of this happens, hands in his pockets, looking perfectly innocent. Far from happy, but absolutely blameless to all appearances.
He grew out of that "blowing things up" phase a while ago. Honestly.
