The wrong side of the bed
Normally when falling out of bed at some point during the night, the worst that happens is one receives a nasty bump on the head from a nightstand or a lamp falling onto them. They rouse the neighbors, maybe, or look like a bit of an idiot to whomever happens to be sharing said bed.
One does not usually, however, fall into other dimensions when falling out of bed.
Crowley is not a very normal person.
In fact, he is currently a very confused, sleep-muddled demon (in the proper sense, you understand-serving Lucifer and all that jazz), curled up in near-foetal position just inside the grate of a fireplace.
Thankfully he tends to wear very expensive, black silk pyjamas to bed, because otherwise this might be awkward.
