Dear Rifters,
Chicago has always been gloomy but it has been especially gloomy as of late. This is to be expected in a monster-gnashing, Rift-ridden, mostly darkened city. There are terrorists fueling hatred within the supernatural community. There are Wanderers-turned-bombers killing their own. There are angels and demons perpetuating century-old wars, oh my!
More importantly, there are Rifts acting up at any hour of the day, any given day, for as long as they have existed. It will come as no surprise to many the Rift has decided to take advantage of this particular day. It's not as if people aren't April Fools to the Rift every month of the year.
Naturally, it will be kicking things up a notch today.
Did anybody wake up with wildly different hair color? Are they glued to the bus bench or to the wall? Are they handcuffed along with someone else without any hopes of getting out of those restraints? Have they turned into shapeshifters when they never had such an ability? Blame the Rift.
Or perhaps people are inflicted with the sudden urge to blurt out deep truths, to strangers or to the people they'd least want having that sort of knowledge. Perhaps they are asking people to dance with them in a middle of a traffic-jammed street. Maybe someone just can't stop tripping and slipping on sidewalks.
Again, blame the Rift. It thrives on this stuff.
The curses and tricks and everything in between will last until midnight or until people figure out how to lift said curses and hoaxes. You're welcome, Chicago!
