Helen has come to terms by now with the fact that her memories may not be exactly true to the way that things have actually happened. She's been a bit out of sorts, trying to piece together what she's missed and who might still remember her. Her stroll today has led her to Grant Park. She's met quite a few interesting people in this particular spot, so it seems like a fair enough place to start to reconnect.

As she draws closer to the greenery, the distinct sound of a particular era of music drifts to her ears. The corners of her mouth twitch into a smile as she lets her feet carry her closer. While the 80's are not her favorite decade for musical progression, Helen can certainly appreciate the choice ( ... )

"It seems that may have been what happened to me as well. From what I can gather, months passed while to me it felt like only a day. Fascinating, really, but still slightly unnerving."

She pulls out another cola for herself and opens it, taking a slow drink.

"So where's the birthday girl? I feel like I should at least say hello."

"Yes. And the alternate realities are not always ... pleasant." He still doesn't understand the point of the puppies and unicorns universe he was sent to, but he has since ceased trying to find it. After all, part of living on the Rift is having many unanswered questions.

He doesn't even look. He doesn't even think to, which is really part of the problem. He just knows, instinctively, that -- "Veronica has not arrived yet. From what I can tell, she is still at the Kashtta."

... Creepy stalker angel powers are at least good for something, right?

"All things considered, I think mine could have been worse. Was sort of like everyone had been conked too hard on the head. No one remembered me. It's sort of strange, being invisible, effectively, but by no means especially dangerous." She tilts her head just slightly at his reaction, his knowing about the young girl's whereabouts.

"Can you do that with anyone?" She asks, "Just guess where they are?"

"It is not a guess." He doesn't sound insulted or put off by the suggestion that it was, but he's going to correct her nonetheless. "My abilities allow me to keep track of my friends based on the location of their soul."

It's really the simplest way to put it. Though he knows that this is only going to open the doors to more questions.

Helen cannot hide her smile this time. An ability. Well, even if he means an ability given by the Rift, he's still different than a typical human, and for that, Helen can feel at home.

"That's rather romantic, isn't it? You can soul-search. Beautiful. Do you have any other abilities?"

"Other abilities that come with what I am," he replies simply. "Teleportation, healing, mild telepathy."

It's after a moment that he realizes he hasn't taken a sip of the soda since she handed it to him. He pauses in his speech, before bringing the can to his lips to sip. It's an odd sensation as the carbonated bubbles rush across his tongue, and he frowns as he swallows. "This is very sweet."

"And what are you, exactly?" She asks, finally finding it an appropriate time to ask the question she's been wondering about for the last few minutes. She doesn't want to pry, but she is so very curious about him. Helen can't say that she's ever met a man like Castiel before.

She takes a drink of her own soda and nods. "It's certainly an acquired taste. I can only have one every now and again, truthfully."

"I am an angel of the Lord."

He's really hoping that she doesn't presume that that is some kind of gang as well. She seems much more intelligent than Trinity, but he never knows what to expect when it comes to the inhabitants of the Rift.

He nods as well, before tipping his head to the side. "It is not unpleasant. Just sweet."

Helen's got those gears turning. Don't worry. There's the biblical name, the odd personality, the abilities, and now the title. While she doesn't necessarily believe in a one true god- at least not in the way that most people do, Helen can certainly believe that Castiel is a being different from a typical human.

"That's absolutely fascinating." She says, not interested in her soda at all anymore. She thinks a moment longer. "Which is to say, different from the angels that are native to the Rift, yes?"

"Yes," he nods. "I am a Wanderer. Angels native to the Rift begin their lives as a human -- I never have been."

That, in itself, is the most important distinction. If she wishes, he can explain vessels, Heaven, and all the other things that come with it, but most people need time to embrace the non-human aspect that comes with being what he is.

Helen doesn't really need time to understand that someone who looks very much human may not identify as such. She's met so many Abnormals who believed they were different from a standard human. For all she knew, the sight of Castiel that she saw before her was an illusion.

"I'd love to hear more, if you're willing to tell it."

His head tips curiously. She does sound genuinely interested, though he is unsure as to why. "This body is simply a vessel. My true form is a pillar of light that is as tall as your Chrysler building. However, most humans can't look upon my true form without sustaining occular damage, so I use a vessel to communicate with them."

"A vessel?" She asks, the gears turning quickly. "So you aren't a shapeshifter? This body belonged to someone before you." It's not a question. She's just walking herself through it.

"And what purpose do you mean to serve while using this man's body as your vehicle?"

"In my own world, it was a means for me to communicate with my charge," he replies. "Here -- it's simply a means for me to communicate with everyone else."

It basically makes his life easier. "I did not do this without the man's consent. Angels cannot obtain vessels without their permission."

"I'm glad to hear that you're at least in touch with your manners." She jokes, still absorbing the information that he's presenting her with. "So he just willingly gave up control of his body? Is he still in there somewhere? Can he speak?"

Helen cares for all life, and as such is immediately worried for Jimmy's well being without knowing anything about him.
