wade in the water

Harry Potter woke up believing that he was at Hogwarts in his first year of schooling. It was shortly after the incident with the troll in the bathroom where he, Hermione, and Ron first made the team that they did and took down the troll together. When he woke up in an entirely unfamiliar bed, he was confused. He was more than confused really. No ( Read more... )

At this point, Castiel has sat through all three Toy Story films, and is a bit more understanding of who he is now. He is unsure as to why the Rift chose this form of all things for him, but it hasn't seemed to have impeded any of his other abilities, so for now he is not to concerned.

However, when he recognizes the man walking down the street surrounded by children as one of the other characters from the movie, he responds the only logical way.

He appears right in front of him, studying him for a moment, before speaking. "I believe we have the same ... affliction."

He doesn't know any other way to put it. He doesn't want to be a cartoon toy.

That is the only logical way to respond, Castiel. The children see and notice him immediately, and they all let out squeals of BUZZ LIGHTYEAR at the tops of their lungs as they approach him this time.

Lucky looks over at him, surprised and then... smiling a little as he slips a hand behind his neck and nods.

"Looks like it," he says and the small smile because something of a smirk. "So you didn't dress up on purpose either?"

One of the kids is trying to press the 'laser light' on "Buzz"'s suit while cheering.

Castiel hears the question. He does. But he's a little busy at the moment -- the children have captivated all his attention.

Castiel may be fond of children, but he certainly isn't good with them if they are not Cassie Riddle.

"What are you doing?" He's talking to the children directly, trying to look down and see where they all are. "No -- please don't -- I do not believe you are supposed to be touching that."

When he does finally manage to look up at Lucky again, the look on his normally unexpressive face is quite clear -- Help me.

Lucky understands completely. The kids can be very overwhelming especially with someone not used to dealing with so many all at once. He may have a moment of Hey, kids, what about me?

But that is completely lost as he tries not to be too amused by the reaction... and then he is quick to spring into help.

"Hey, kids, lets all play a game," he says, which appears to be the magic word as they all turn their attention back to him. Oooh. "Sit over there away from Buzz and Woody in the grass so we... can tell you about an adventure that Buzz and I had."

It's story time with Buzz and Woody aka story time with Castiel and Lucky! The children cheer and run into place, sitting down. He has no idea of Buzz can tell a story, but the kids will be happy with just about anything they say right now.

Castiel is terrible at telling stories. But he's grateful for the fact that children aren't crowding him anymore, and nods, prepared to follow Woody's lead in whatever way he can.

He's probably going to fail miserably. At least he's going to try.

"Thank you," he says softly.

Sometimes being terrible at telling stories is what makes things hilarious, Castiel. It's okay. The children are so excited, they'd cheer at anything he said at this point.

Lucky nods as he looks sideways at him. "You're welcome," he says quietly. "I'm Luckky by the way, not... Woody."

Though he knows who Castiel is through Lena so he'll know who he is as soon as he introduces himself, and he'll remember that he's been in their apartment before when Lucky wasn't there. They really must have him over for dinner again sometime. It'd be cute.

"My name is Castiel." He pauses for a moment, because the name 'Lucky' has been mentioned to him, but he is unsure if Lucky is a common name for humans. He knows that it's a common name for pets.

He keeps all these thoughts to himself, however. It's easier that way.

And yes, Lena and Lucky should definitely have Castiel over for dinner. It would be fantastic.

The kids are probably wanting a story very badly, but Lucky gestures for Bullseye to temporarily entertain them, because he's listening to the name and taking it in.

"Wait, you're Castiel?"

He pauses a moment.

"Like Lena's friend?"

Castiel's head turns at the mention of Lena's name, and he nods. "Yes. Lena and I have spoken on several occasions."

That constitutes friends in Castiel's book. At least for the most part.

Lucky smiles in response when Castiel confirms it, and he nods in response. "Okay, I definitely know who you are. Lena's told me about you before. I'm... her boyfriend," he says after a moment.

Fiance technically but that is staying between him and Lena until after they get through this case. "These... kids are getting antsy. Probably should start on that story."

He turns to the group. "Once upon a time, Buzz and I, Woody, were travelling through a dark forest to save a young girl from the evil Mr. Potatohead who wanted to kidnap her so she could make him more parts for his face."

All the children go Oooh!

Castiel -- is going to let Lucky take this one. Inbred creativity? Not exactly one of this angel's gifts. What he will do, however, is stand in front of the group and look back at the children, trying to understand what has them so enthralled.

Lucky delves further into the story describing how they naturally saved the day. It involves riding on the backs of birds among other harrowing moments that resulted in them being the heroes.

The children cheer before they get to their feet to swarm them both again. Lucky glances at Castiel, apologetically.

"It only ever lasts as long as the story."

Now the kids are asking for both of their autographs (or autogwaphs as some pronounce it).

Castiel just tries not to seem awkward as they swarm him again, even though he's mildly terrified. Really, Lucky. The last time anyone saw this face was the time Dean took him to a brothel.

True story.

He is amendable to the autographs, however. Not that he can really write with the fingers of this suit, but he tries.

Lucky looks apologetic at the sight of Castiel's face. He does look actually terrified to a certain extent.

It's why when some time has passed, Lucky shoos the kids away from him.

"Okay, kids, Buzz Lightyear has to head back to space to go on more missions. Lets give him some space," he says as he takes a step back and then he lowers his voice a little. "You can go ahead now if you want. I'll take care of these guys."

Yes, Lucky Spencer will save you from the children, Castiel.

Castiel will not look a gift horse in the mouth. He takes a step back from the rest of the group, and will give Lucky a very grateful look.

"Thank you."

And with that, he disappears.
