The weekend that was

So Saturday after work me and rivetmike ambled home for some sit-down before getting our boogie-on to the Mucky pup for vixstar celebrations. By now I was starting to feel icky again so plans were re-hashed and tissues packed into bag. Twas great to see all albeit briefly. After everyone left the mucky pup for Decadence me and Mike finished our drinks [they sell Urquell pilsner here!! The scrummy beer from Prague :)] and had a quick game of pool. I'm not too good at pool although I must be gettin better as I potted a few balls leaving only two on the table. I even managed to do a couple of 'flash shots'. By flash I mean they had slightly funny angles and went into the holes I meant them to go in. As you can see I have quite a way to go before playing proffesionally ;)
Mucky pup also has some very disconcerting drinks available in Jam jars. Why Jam jars? Including kahula, milk, coke and vodka. Why exactly would you want milk and coke?
So after a brief spell in the pub we made our way home by bus as otherwise we would have been stranded in Kings Cross as the last connecting train to Walthamstow would've already gone. Still, we ended up bumping into a fella who used to go School with Mike called Adam. What a wikkid fella. We spent the whole journey chatting and I would happily have spent another journey doing the same. On the outward he looked just like your average east laandahn boy, and his overuse of blod, bruv etc but really when you looked past all the things that might make you think 'he's gonna be another typical trendie boy' you get someone who is just like us. A 25 year old guy who happens to really be into his Hip-hop music at the moment [who conincidentally is still a massive Slayer and Biohazard fanboy] doing a degree and just getting on with Chillin. It made me think how sometimes so much is based on appearance yet really it means so very little.
We then went home and watched a Bodycount DVD. Yes. You heard right Ice T's 'rock band'. Earlier I had the pleasure of Anthrax. I have to admit I never really listened to either band in my youth although I knew a few Bodycount tracks from somewhere. Ice T's funny. We didn't watch the whole thing though, a DVD full of Ice T got a bit too much. Amusing though. [Bodycount y'all bodybody count y'all]
Sunday we had the uber lie-in which was much needed. I didn't leave bed until nigh on 3pm which suited me fine. Actually I would have stayed in bed lying about in my own filth all day if I didn't keep mentally nudging myself to the fact that I had germs and a nice hot shower would be good for me. That was after some crappy film about olympic horse riders. Shame.
Bifta's were the next call of port as tonight was Dominos night. The plan was to starve ourselves all day and then when we thought we could take it no longer order a Dominos and gorge. This weekend has been all about eating and fully aware I would pay for it this week I wholly intended to gorge it proper.
We watched three films too: Tinto Brass 'Kitties Salon' which promptly got turned off before half way through. Rubbish with possibly a couple of funny moments but I mean really just a couple of funny moments.
Amelie - French with subtitles. An amazing magical dreamlike film. fantastic. A quirky film filmed wonderfully with a wonderful look at people. It made me smile throughout.
Marrionier. We should have put something else on. This is a Japanese film by the director who brought to you Uzumaki and Tomie. The picture quality was dire and the acting was two-bob. The dolls were great though, especially towards the end of the film. The story.. Girls are being made into dolls. Via a machine that uses.. pond water. Mike fell asleep and I turned it off before the end. If the picture quality had not been so bad I would actually probably have made it until the end but only because I was really quite comfortable in bed [toasty and warm]and had some stella and bifta on the go and the picture quality was starting to grate on my nerves.
Today I have spent muchly doing nothing which I don't mind because as far as I am concerned if I worked for a half decent company I would be at home getting better but as they refuse me sick pay and I have to come in then I will work at a pace which doesn't cause me to push my ill little chica-self.
Now it be lunchtime...
