A quick question to all you peeps who know the workings of a PC better than I. It seems when I got my new log-in at work that when setting up I inadvertantly didn't think and agreed to [when in yahoo] the computer doing that annoying thing of remembering every search you do ( Read more... )

Hey G :)
Thank you - I tried changing the history bit but the sneaky buggers have done something which means all the history part is greyed out and I can't access it :( Bugger.

Hey that's cool on the long reply it means I don't have to do anything either :) WIN!

Have a good afternoon :)

Ohhh the sneeky little piss wealsels! Hmmmm..... I don't knows then, maybe just grab a bikkit and sit and poke the monitor for a few hours, might work?! ;)

Hehe, guess what I just founded as my boss (the big madonna fan) has gone to lunch. A pack of 3 'Madonna condoms'?!?! WTF?! They have a pic on the front and everything. He is a lil weird one!

Almost nummy time so hopefully will be good :)

sneaky little piss weasels LOL! I like that saying muchly :)

Yeah it's none for me :( Still I figured how to manually deleted them by scrolling over and pressing Delete [why did I not already try that?] Autocomplete is crapola :(

Madonna condoms eh? That is slightly odd. Does each one have a different picture? Plus a free chewing gum - like those sticker collections!!
Bah, I'm babbling now.
I already ate my lunch and I'm currently trying not to get crisps or chocolate whilst my brain keeps picturing hob nobs covered in milk chocolate.
:( I will not be defeated.

Also: try going to "C:\Documents and Settings\[your windows username]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files". You may be able to delete or "customise" your internet history there.

Thanks fella but looks like they blocked it or something. I have no content tab in my internet options bit and the whole History thing is blocked too so I can't delete any dodgy non-work sites I have visited.
The pissy scumbags.
I managed to work out how to manually deleted each one using the 'delete' button.
That'll learn me not to go agreeing to things on teh net without reading them first!*

*it wont but I tell myself such things to make me feel like I have learnt something ;)

Sounds like they've snaked you good and proper with a group policy.
You probably wont be able to do this without an admin login but try anyway ;)

start/run
type gpedit.msc
hit enter.

If it opens you are in the heavenly land of totalitarian control ;)

You will probably find the settings they have set are under User Configuration/Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Internet Control Panel

...and so on.

I doubt you'd be able to change anything.

These settings can also be set from the server when you log in.

Thanks fella - some sneaky IT tinkering I likes it :)
Could they tell that I've tried to be clever and change pre-set wotsits?

yes if the computer saves what you've typed into the run command, which it usually does ;)

That is if you HAVE a run command ;)
