Guitar is measured in passion, my friend. Maybe not, but I like to think so. I suspect you have soul, which is rare in the solid body whore we all finger and brag over. A real guitarist can recognize soul, because he's played with enough over technical premadonna half-wits than he can bear. Like Steve Vai. Guy can solo like nobody's business, but his riffs couldn't hold up an empty can of Michelob Ultra.

Good Lord my friend.

You play?

Music sir, is measured in emotions conjured.

Emotions emoted.

Thoughts felt.

Feelings thought.

Steve Vai, though having transcripted Zappa, still leaves me cold, and uninterested.

I never gave a shit about solos. That's just the obvious choice for a jack of all trades, but I wouldn't trade it for solo's. I was always a rythm man. All I got is a cheap acoustic now. I'm trying to learn this stuff.

Wow, that's some fine shit!

Are you familiar with Tommy Emmanuel by chance? Most stunning guitar playing I've ever witnessed.

My Two and a Half Cents: he is making the music an excuse. He figures you're the type who thinks there's nothing wrong with putting some balls in your mouth after a couple of beers.

Seriously, though, that's very cool. But usually when musicians have credentials flowing from their posterior, that's a sure sign of gayness.

two and a half cents? that leaves $.0064159.... to be settled somewhere.

And dang it! That his balls were in my mouth had nothing to do with his interest in hanging out again! nothing!

We shall see. I think if and when we jam, I'll sound just fine for the first 10 minutes, then he'll notice the repetition. Really good blues players (as you know) have an enormous bag of tricks, and know 1000 different voicings for 7th and 9th chords. I know only about 50 (on a good day).

That's what made this guy so good....they played blues all night long, and everything sounded fresh. (sigh)
