Woot! Thanks for (finally) posting this!

... couple of slight hitches in the post itself, though: the links aren't formatted right (not sure if this is LJ's fumble or someone else did it wrong).

Also, the manga is being re-released by Dark Horse Comics in omnibus format, with the translation tweaked and polished; I believe this version is more faithful to the original, and it may have cleaner art than TokyoPop's translations. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison yet, but the first volume (covering the Zagato arc) is available by now. Not sure when the second volume's due out.

Those points aside - I like what you're doing, it answers the most important of my questions about the theme. Thanks again for putting this up!

Thanks for the heads-up! Links should be working, now. For some reason quotation marks in Google Docs format oddly.

That's good to hear about the manga! I think Dark Horse is re-releasing Cardcaptor Sakura in omnibus format, too.

(Speaking of, THAT post is...coming soon?!)

They are indeed, and I've already picked up the first two volumes of that. (The only reason I didn't mention them was that this is an MKR post ... ;)

You didn't mention Innova! He's Zagato's right-hand man, so I assume he must be doing something, especially since IIRC he's the only one who knows what Zagato's true intentions and motivations are besides Zagato and Emeraude themselves (though I may be misremembering). Other than that, this looks good. Thanks for the post!

Ah! You're right. I think we forgot him here because he's an anime-only character.

Oh, is he? I didn't know that. I only ever read bits and pieces of the MKR manga.

Yep! Nova in season 2 was also anime only. The anime added quite a lot of filler, since the entire manga run (including the story for both seasons) was only 6 volumes.
