The Sister Schools Program

Aug 24, 2013 06:34

School is an important part of the magical girl genre, and we'd like to encourage roleplay involving it.  With our player characters spread out between three separate schools, however, getting enough critical mass to do things like school plays, sports festivals, and science fairs could be challenging.  In addition, players will naturally want to ( Read more... )

Psst, if you want a full school year then it would've been implemented in spring, not fall.

Looks good otherwise!

Player characters will begin RP, ICly, on the actual date of the MUSH opening (September 20th), so for the program to have been going for a full calendar year (and three trimesters), it has to have been implemented in fall ( ... )

Oh--my bad, my tone was because I thought you were one of the staffers I knew, but apparently you aren't! Thank you for the explanations, though.

How do inter-school events handle vendors? IE guy running a noodle van, snack wagon, etc. Is that even a thing over there?

The entire metropolitan area knows and loves Kaoru-chan and his donuts. G'heh!

Yes, snack wagons are a thing that happens, and they'll often be seen at school events. Since the school events are so big, notable NPCs will probably almost always be there, too.

Awesomesauce. I knew snackwagons/carts/etc were a thing, just not if they were allowed in/around school events. Thanks for clearing that up.

Now i have justification for being places if I app that guy.

Also. Did you say... Hot Doughnuts? /duckdynasty

Two questions come to mind.

1) Does the sister-school relationship extend as far as joint field trips to places like Tokyo Tower?

2) Not related but inspired by the thought of time passing: Can we presume that magical girls who start out in middle school (for instance) will likely see their "jobs" extend through high school and potentially even into college? (This may have been addressed elsewhere and I'm just not remembering it.)

1) Absolutely. As you may expect, some field trips will be joint, others restricted to a single school (or even a single class).

2) Magical girls will not age out of their magicalness. If a player character wishes to hang up their wand, that's different. With our 1:2 time ratio (for every 2 days that pass IRL, 1 day will pass in-character), however, it will take a long time before this is really an issue.
