It would probably be smart to have a fallback character that's unlikely to face stiff competition. Personally, though, that's not what I plan on doing.
Yeah, I saw your comment on the other thread, already aware of the imminent announcement of this policy, and thought, "hoo boy, that's like applying to Yale as a backup school."
Sorry if I should place this in response to a different entry, but it is at least on the topic of first applications:
On the application, section 7a (stats) says: "If you would like the staff to build your stats for you, simply suggest which stats are most important to your character."
Does this offer also apply to section 7b (attacks)?
Stats are not terribly important to me and I would, personally, rather sort them all out later. (Neither of the characters I'm applying for are fond of calling out their attacks, either.)
Oh yeah, like, if you want us to do your attacks, just give us attack names (those are the hardest part to think up; for PMMM I recommend the official PSP game, some of those names are surprisingly clever, and they're on the Puella Magi wiki somewhere) and some sense of any specifics that you envision. What an attack is /like/, so to speak. The csys unifies tone and effect pretty easily, which helps those of us who are less quantitative and more qualitative.
I will revise the application to make this more clear -- thank you!

"If I can't get into Harvard, I'll settle for Yale," pretty much.
