The antibodies in breastmilk can easily be destroyed with heat. It is best to put the bag of breastmilk in warm tap water to thaw. You cannot “allow breastmilk to thaw over the week”. Once it is thawed it has to be used by 24 hours.

* Thaw milk overnight in the refrigerator, or hold the bottle under warm running water to quickly thaw. You can also place the sealed container in a bowl of warm water for 20 minutes to bring it to body temperature.
* Thawed milk is safe in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Do not refreeze.
CAUTION: Never microwave breastmilk. Microwaving can cause severe burns to baby’s mouth from hot spots that develop in the milk during microwaving. Microwaving can also change the composition of breastmilk.
I have used the bottle warmer, since I was told that babies don't/won't drink cold milk. DS will drink it as cold as I would. HTH

I just feel bad for the poor little guy when I know he only breathes out of his nose and then to see milk coming out of it!

We have never given him a cold bottle. I don't think he'd take it since it's so warm coming out of me. But, I think the warmer might be nice for Rob when I'm away.
