i want to sleep

hmmmm, I'll do a link, so this won't take up so much space on friends' pages, I think it's going to be long. . .

ahhh, where to begin.  LSSP (large scale service project) started last monday.  we worked at a head-start school (for 3 & 4 year olds) cleaning up the back yard.  let me define "cleaning up" :  there was old wood in the ground that had been treated with pesticide and was poisonous that we took out, the ground was filled with hills and drop-offs we had to even out, tons of raking and getting rid of leaves, tons of digging, we put in a nature trail and benches and soccer goals and basketball goals, all of which were cemented into the ground.  it's so pretty now though.  and I met some REALLY amazing people.

specifically, there were my roommates.  Maryann is the governor of the New England district, and she just makes me smile.  seriously, she won't leave me alone if I'm frowning.  Katie and Ahn were from Mary Washington in VA.  we had so much fun!  I took them on a tour of the school and such, and they were great to talk to.  And Katie said she'd take me to the crayola factory some day!

then there's the San Diego club.  I want to go live in San Diego.  These people made me miss California, which hasn't happened since i left.  Kate is adorable and so. . .  full of energy.  Kelly is super psyched about everything and makes things fun and exciting.  Chelsea, well, loves her boyfriend, and is also very funny and awesome to hang out with.  Then there's mike.  Mike has this amazing ability to make people feel special, and what's wonderful is that he does it for everyone he talks to.  Of course, you'd think that realizing that would make me feel slightly less special, but somehow it doesn't.  He made me feel better about myself, which was good because before convention that just wasn't happening, i think you know why.  and although he's not form SD, I can't leave out Canada Mike.  He knows things that you wonder why anyone needs to know them, and is so enthusiastic, and has nifty std-proof slippers.

convention was super fun.  mostly all i went to were the general sessions, with some FANTASTIC speakers, and block parties that each district hosted.  one did "chug a hug" - those little kool-ade like drinks that are aweful, and SD mike did like 13 and I thought he was going to throw up.  Still, all of it was very much fun.

Last friday (between LSSP and convention) I moved into my ac-free dorm with Ashley.  it was so hot, but there's a box fan at the foot of my bed now so I'm ok.  Classes started Monday, so I was going back and forth from class to convention, it was crazy.  they're good though, just a lot of them.  I have stat, which meets one day a week and we do everything online, infant and child development, which shouldn't be bad, back to back spanish, lit and convo, lit shouldn't be too hard for me, more interesting than anything, but convo is going to be painful, astronomy, which doesn't look bad at all, and comm. in relationships, which I'll like.  and of course my wednesday night teaching fellows class.  woohoo!  I'm going to die.

I also hadn't been getting home until two or three in the morning, which meant I couldn't call steven because he's doing RA training and needs sleep, so I didn't tlak to him for like three days and he. . . wasn't happy.  that whole knowing what I'm doing thing didn't happen at all.

I'm leaving in like three hours for the airport to go to Boston for my cousin's wedding, missing classes.  I'm so tired.  I'll sleep next week.
