My house is slowly coming together.
In the last couple of weeks I've got new guttering, cleared the previous owners crap from the loft, D worked out how bad my TV signal wiring was (miles of lossy cable which when unplugged from the aerial gave the same quality picture) this is now fixed and so my PVR has moved upstairs into my modded chest of drawers
Loft insulation has been bought but other loft jobs took priority especially the leaky ballcock on my water tank, this also gave me the opportunity to clean it from this
To this
We made a new lid for it from plastic and made our own insulated jacket and lid for it with the insulation made from recycled plastic bottles and some bin bags and it looks really good, also did the same for my heating header tank.
D fixed the live wire that had been left in the loft and put a proper junction box in instead of chock blocks for the bathroom light.
The plumbing work is not complete, mostly due to some non-standard pipe but this will be fixed next weekend, however we already have much better water flow to the shower which seems to have made it warmer ( think the low flow safety mechanism was kicking in), also while looking at the shower we managed to fix the on/off switch on the shower so it can now be turned off before we drip water all over the bathroom and won't come on when someone chooses the wrong cord to pull for lights.
Next weekend we will hopefully get the loft insulation done and the house will be fully ready for winter, I think we then deserve some time off major house projects at least on my house, think the rest that we'll be doing can wait till next year.
