It's that time of year again, one of the highlights of my job. I'm off to the Bologna Children's Book Fair tomorrow. I've got meetings scheduled with about 60 editors/publishers/subagents from around the world, where I'll do my best to convince each and every one of them that they should buy translation rights to my wonderful clients' titles. Nice website, Barry. Clean and trim the way I like them, but still full of information. I had trouble with some of the author links, but that may be browser issues. I'll have to visit again from home.

Great bio! Pretty much my story, except that contracts have been the through-line in my career. But those early days at Dutton and Dial formed my love of children's books, too.

Have a great fair, and hope we can get together when you get back. (We've only been trying for a lunch for three years now.)

Aw, the website looks swell!

Also: I swear upon the mane of Aslan, I WILL get a job that sends me to Bologna. Because this bitter jealousy every year can't be good for me! ;)
