Tonight, I am enjoying the peace of my house. It is a house that, between the changes made to it during the mad preparations for hosting family Christmas, and the warmth brought to it by being full to bursting with my family for a few days, now feels more like a home than it ever has before

I love how you painted the picture of your room being touched by the family. Lights, poinsettia, candle sticks. It's good to be able to sit back and see all that. Indeed.

That invitation was definitely the hardest to turn down. I love the idea of welcoming the new year with a community singing... but there was another invitation (I had so many this year! strange, after years of one, or none), from dear friends whom I have too much neglected this year, and whose last several gatherings I have missed because of scheduling conflicts. In the end, that won out. But I hope the Tells will make this a regular occurrence, and perhaps next year I will join you.
