Sarah and I live in a small house. Both of us moved here from larger places and, despite all the stuff we got rid of, we have a lot of crap. From time to time, we collect all of the least necessary things that are cluttering our 800 or so square feet and we stick them in the attic ( Read more... )

Eeee! scary, that would certainly set anyone's heart to pounding.

On the upside, your Bee armour is adorable, as is the look on your face in that picture. Equal parts Fear, Amusement and Determination.

Okay, the story was pure creepshow-horror, but when I clicked on the picture I nearly died laughing! Flashbacks of Cornholio imitations! Wahaha! Laws, yes. :D

So, an update for the curious:

Sarah was able to get ahold of the landlord this morning, who authorized us to take care of it ourselves. She then contacted an exterminator, who came by early this afternoon and sprayed. We should be completely bee-free in a few days as the ones who were out of the nest at the time come back and get poisoned.

As it turns out, these were yellowjackets. Unlike some other sorts of bees, a yellowjacket would just as soon sting you as wiggle its antennae at you.
