Though I'm not in a particularly unpleasant mood this morning, people's idiocy and hypocrisy are pissing me off more than usual.

Personally, I am conditionally OK with hypocrisy. That condition is very specific and rare: YOU HAVE TO ADMIT TO IT!!!! If you're blind to your own hypocrisy, you (at least) need to have your eyelids ripped off.

Maybe a better focus would be the state of our cities, and the rampant theft, murder, and violence which has numbed our younger population to the point of being entertained by these games? (ahem, like me... yeeeah.... ahem)

Politicians aren't really people, though. They're walking PAs for what they think people will want to hear. People don't want to hear about long, involved, difficult plans for correcting problems; that bores them. They want high-gloss sound-bites, and that's all politicians will give them. Politicians COULD cook a nine-course, five-star PAcific Rim banquet for public consumption, but sadly the cry is for McDonald's.
