Are most campgrounds in Canada open starting in May?

I think they either open May Long weekend or the weekend before (fishing season opening). I know Chad & his buddies are renting a cabin in Moose Lake, MB May 12-14.

We were thinking of camping somewhere in SK on May 12th...cheaper than a hotel & we have a tent we've hardly used, so why not?
