I was born in 1990 too. I wouldn't go as far as saying we're Gen Z and a totally different generation from those born in the mid 80s, because at least we can remember some of the things they talk about. Simpsons started in December 89, so to really remember a world before them you'd have to be born in about 86 and even then it's only barely - basically if you were born in 1983 or later the Simpsons have more or less always been a part of your world.
I think 88-92 born are later end Gen Y. We can remember or at least relate to the trends of the late 80s/early 90s but we didn't really live them quite on the same level. :) I still think we're a lot more old school than some lil kid born in 2002.
