their colored clothing splashed against the neutral floor. =WIN It really is a nice metaphor for the relationships. Sort of a fresh and exciting one compared to the comfortable, bland one.
My head is about to hit the desk from sleepiness, so this may not have been very coherent. I'll have to re-read once I'm more conscious. (not like I don't read your fics more than once anyway :D)
