Most people lack either, though they throw the idea about as cover for the real self-interest that lies behind their actions. The consistant system behind it all is "What I want, now, without responsibility", for nearly everyone, usually fitted under whatever is socially acceptable to the people around them.
Pretty much all the other words they put up are a smokescreen.
