I just noticed a couple of things - first Luke makes no mention of the centurion "loving" his slave - just that the slave means something to him and yes, Luke does dwell more on the faith of the centurion.
Also, I wonder why John the Baptist doesn't already know that Jesus is the One who was to come. He knew it when he was still in his Mama's womb - maybe he sent his followers just to make it more obvious to them? - along with another mention of John - John neither ate or drank and they thought he was possessed by a demon, Jesus ate and drank and they called Him a drunkard and glutton - seems to me you just can't make these people happy
