Corsha Online

Well, it's been a long time coming, but I today finalized "the Corsha Wedding" flickr group.

For those of you who attended (or starred in) their fabulirrific nuptuals, I hope this will be a place we can share pictures, comments, and memories from the marriage of Cory Bishop and Shauna Willi--er--Bishop. (Damn, still have to get used to that!)

To the newlyweds: Congratulations all over again! (...Em told me you left her a message. Hope you both had a wonderful time down on the cape!)

As for the Flickr group, it's set to "public," meaning anyone can view the pics, but to add photos to the group proper, people will need to get in touch with an admin (at this point, that means me).
Signing up is really simple, and I plan to put up another post (or send another email) with my own flickr crash-course style instructions--though I do think their FAQ is good.

Here's the permanent link to the group's page:

Flickr is a photo sharing site--and in my humble opinion it has a few advantages over most others.

One of the big ones is that every photo can be indexed using "tags" (or "subject headings" in library-speak.)
In other words, I can look in my own collection for every photo I've tagged with 'cake'... and then I can broaden my search to include every photo that any flickr user has tagged 'cake.'

In this case, looking for the tag "Corsha Wedding" will pull up all the pics I took at the wedding. If everyone else tags their wedding pics "Corsha Wedding" too, then they'll all be indexed under the same global tag.
Note: the double quotes are important. Flickr tags are space-separated, so entering Corsha Wedding as two words will store it as two separate tags. Use "Corsha Wedding" to grab the full term.

So... if you want to get all your low-tech friends and relations in on this too, all you need to do is tell them to go to
http://www.flickr.com
...and search for "Corsha Wedding" (with the quotes included).

Please add any photos you want--but keep it "clean." (It was, after all, a night of shameless debauchery!) I don't take my administrator privileges very seriously... but I do reserve the right to take down (or ask you to take down) any "unflattering" photos. ...Though what some call "unflattering" I may just call "funny." ;-)

Mostly I just want to guarantee that everyone who attended will be able to view the photos & have a good time sharing & commenting.

Check it out, and if you want "in" to add photos to the group proper, send me an email at
joshua.walczak[at] simmons.edu

Enjoy!
