Fic: Curtain Call (17/18)
Noah woke up and felt a rush of cold wind all over his body. He looked around the room and notice that it did not looked like he was in the lodge any more. In fact, when he noticed the IV monitor in the room he realized that he was in a hospital.
“Ouch” Noah cried when he felt the pain in his arm.
Noah pressed his hands against his chest. Suddenly his mind started to remember all the events that led him to being shot. Especially, Luke last words to him.
Noah looked around the room again to see if Luke was or has been in the room.
Panic fell over Noah, He couldn’t breathe at the thought that the house did explode and Luke didn’t make it.
“LUUUUUUUUUUUUUKEEEEE” Noah screamed his name to the top of his lung.
The nurses down the hall raced to Noah’s room.
Noah had pulled the IV out of his arms and was about to get out of bed.
“Mr. Mayer please calm down.” One of the kind nurses said.
“My husband is he here? I have to see him.” Noah tried to get out of bed again.
“What is his name?”
“Luke Snyder-Mayer”
One of the nurses, headed out of the offices to see if they could find Luke in the hospital.
“Mr. Mayer we really need to take a look at the IV you pulled.”
Noah was becoming frantic and impatient so he tried to get out of the bed once more.
“Please get off of me.” Noah said fighting with the nurses.
“Please Mr. Mayer stay in your bed. We will see if he is in the hospital.”
The head nurse entered to the room.
“Mr. Mayer, Luke Snyder is in the hospital recovering.”
“Can I see him?”
“Are you a relative?”
“I’M HIS HUSBAND!” Noah yelled angrily.
“I’m sorry but…”
Noah hopped out of the bed and tried to run for the door. A few of the nurses grabbed him and moved him back to the bed.
“LUUUUUKEEEE” Noah yelled again.
Noah continued to fight with the nurses.
“Call a doctor in here.” The head nurse commanded.
“Mr. Mayer, Please!”
“Just let me see him.” Noah begged with tears in his eyes.
When a few doctors came in the room and saw the commotion, One of the doctors asked for some anesthetics.
The group of men and women tried to pen one of Noah’s arms down but Noah was relentless on getting out of this room.
“WHAT DOES HE WANT?” One of the doctors asked the nurse.
“He wants to see his husband, another patient in the hospital.”
“Well, give him what he wants. Find Mr. Mayer and send him here.”
The nurse ran down the hall to room 220. Luke was lying on the bed trying to get some sleep when a nurse entered his room.
“Mr. Snyder?”
“Yes.”
“Your husband is awake and he is causing quite a disturbance. He really wants to see you.”
Luke got out of the bed and hopped with the nursed down to Noah’s room.
Noah was standing against the wall as nurses and doctors tried to reason with him. He looked over to the door and saw Luke entered the room.
“Luke” Noah said dropping everything in his hand.
“Yes, bubby I’m here”
Noah slowly walked over to the figured that appeared to be Luke. Noah touched his cheek just to make sure this wasn’t a dream.
When Noah felt that warm familiar feeling under his fingers under his he felt overjoyed and over whelmed.
He pulled Luke into an embrace and cried on Luke’s shoulder.
“It’s okay bubby. We made it just like you promised.”
Noah still had tears in his eyes as he kissed Luke’s cheek and thanked the heavens with every fiber in his being.
“I love you, Luke Snyder.” Noah finally managed to speak through the tears.
“I love you, Noah Mayer.”
The lovers stayed embraced not wanting to let go of each other ever again.
