funny how that is such a big deal that hillary said that. i think i remember (no i KNOW) that pat buchanan said almost the very same thing (and definitely using the reference to the plantation) when republicans were campaigning to take over congress in 1994. The bigger problem is the double standard used by the Republicans (Strom Thurman having a black love child ring a bell? or the Abramoff scandal which is OVERWHELMINGLY Republican!) that is the real problem here. For the most part, McCain and his buddy from Arizona trying to stop earmarking (allowed to become a PLAGUE on our political process by Tom Delay's leadership) and most of what McCain otherwise says is pretty sound, probably a few republicans that aren't pushing their own corporate or "moral" agenda to the detriment of working class/middle class america, but i must say that this remark by Mccain is totally off base. if anything, he should be welcoming chavez and the role he is playing in alleviating the cold for many poor families in new york-something that bush would

-first off it was newt gingrich who said a similar comment back in 1994 (I'll have to check my sources, but it most likely wasn't in a black church or martin lther king day) -pat buchanan is not a republican and most of us want nothing to do with him -i honestly don't know much about the venezuela thing, but i think my point was that both sides of the political spectrum tend to say stupid things
