Thank you! Columbia is my dream school, I just can't put into words my feelings and excitement :]

And I haven't received any info on financial aid yet but I doubt I received much if any. I am going over my options now to make my dream possible and I am considering deferring a year to save up/apply for craploads of scholarships. We'll see though.

All is well, just working and living. How are you? I try to keep updated on your lj, you're living in VA (near DC) now and going to beauty school? I really admire that, had I any knack for creativity, I would do something similar and work my way through school (and life) a lot easier.

So are you making a full-blown career change or are you going to go back to school eventually? And still for Political Science?

i can only imagine how you feel... that's how i felt when i was going to american. however, as you know, there was a change of heart blah blah blah. ;) but yeah, anyhow... i am going to paul mitchell for cosmetology and things are going so well. as of right now, i am making a career change... but if the political current flips in my favor, i will go back. unlike my peers and bosses who just went to grad school (my boss at emily's list is now at princeton getting her masters, and my other boss is back in california because he's from the west coast and just doing his thing) and put themselves further in the student loan hole (haha), i decided to do something a little different. yes, i'm still living in the dc metro area. if you're ever in town, please come visit and get your hair dyed/cut... i'm always coercing people to come in and see me. so far, i've done a few girls at work with their dye and cut jobs.

take care lady! <3

Well what's the great thing about what you are doing is that you'll have a career in something you enjoy and if you decide to go to grad school [like your friends] you'll have a viable career/skill to pay your way through grad school! I'll still be making $10 p/hr til I get my MA and I am sure your friends in grad school are not doing much better!

I would love to come to DC. I haven't been there since I was wee little and barely remember the monuments! I'll keep ya on my wish list of travel places and hopefully by years end, I will have made it [much more economically feasable than say, somewhere in Europe!] PLUS I can definitely use getting my hair and color did!

So if you decided to go back into Political Science, what were you interested in doing? I never quite knew, although I knew you were into Domestic/Washington politics. And what did you do at Emily's List?
