Personality:
Belarus has a huge stalker-esque infatuation-complex. So, let’s get married, married, married, married, MARRIED!! Period. But let’s start from the beginning.

Belarus hasn’t always been this obsessed. Generally when he has an interest in someone, he tends to be a bit more touchy-feely and clingy in regards to the person, often appearing suddenly right beside or hovering around at a close distance, lurking at every corners. All these might seem like an affectionate gesture, an innocent one-sided love, or an act of passionate longing from the eyes of a stranger. However, therein lies a dangerous attraction that begins to grow uncontrollably, to the point where he strongly desires for marriage, marriage, marriage, irregardless of the other party’s feelings. He is a very persistent and demanding young man, merely rejecting him and escaping will prove to be futile, for he is relentless in his pursuit until his wish is fulfilled.

In addition to his obsessive infatuation, Belarus is also very intimidating. This applies mostly to when he threatens other nations from coming too close to his beloved, more often than not usually appearing nearby, slipping in and out from behind shadows, all the while emitting a terrifying aura as a warning to others. The knife he always has on him is one of his weapon of choice for intimidation, and has been used a fair amount of times whenever deemed necessary. To Belarus, any and everyone is a potential wedge between the both of them, whether intentionally, or unknowingly catching the attention of his love. He is a possessive young man who wants to wholly and completely own his loved one, whomever (or whatever) that stands in his way will most certainly suffer the blade of his knife; he does not like to share.

Belarus has a harsh and violent nature under that handsome, youthful complexion, shaped by the hardships of his tumultuous and brutal nation life, either when living under an invader, or his own ruler. He has managed to survive thus far thanks to his older siblings (Russia and Ukraine), who were there with him as the three of them braved through and overcome their conquerors. He is capable of hatred, especially to those who had ruled over their house (Kievan Rus’), for example the Golden Horde, and most notably towards Lithuania, whom he believes to be the reason he had to separate from his siblings to live with, and in later years when the Lithuanian becomes one of Russia’s favourite. Throughout his stay under the Grand Duchy, he did not make life any easier for the young Lithuanian, repaying her overflowing kindness and hospitality with endless cruelty and violence, although she remains oblivious about it. This twisted relation continues on till present time, even when the nation subsequently develops a crush for him, going as far as to break her fingers when they were on a date that lasted a mere three minutes. Several nations have received similar treatment, though more of a general immense dislike against them, including the ones who lived under the Soviet House.

Presently, the object of his affection is still Russia; since his younger child-nation days, he has always cared for his older sister - often on the clingy side, for example reassuring her that it was all right to accept Ukraine’s scarf, because it was hers anyway. And while he does admire Russia, his infatuation for his older sibling begins to form and expand as he continues to live together with his siblings (Ukraine being the eldest brother). In fact, he has always lived with them for as long as he can remember, that even if he had to stay elsewhere, he would still manage to constantly pop back out of nowhere and stalk Russia, only so that he could cling onto her again and never let go. His undying devotion for Russia, however, is not returned. In retrospect, his persistence and crazed passion to marry her has only instilled countless horrifying nightmares in the otherwise fearsome nation.

Even though Belarus has just gained his independence and no longer lives together with Russia, he yearns for the days of old, and returns often for a visit, mainly so that he could continually implore his sister to ‘become one’ with him, much to the latter’s despair. Furthermore, due to diplomatic relations, he has temporarily become America’s adoptive younger brother, in spite of his resentment for the other nation. Occasionally during his free time, he dabbles with the occult and still reads Pravda, his favourite Soviet newspaper. Secretly. Because he is supposed to be a republic now.

Powers/Abilities:
Being a nation has granted Belarus with a near-eternal lifespan that surpasses a normal human, continuing to exists so long as his people does. His health is inevitably influenced by the state of his people and economies, or when afflicted by wars and natural disasters, though canon has yet to show him severely affected by it.

On top of that, he has an inhuman strength: breaking bones and fingers as easily as snapping twigs (Lithuania often being the recipient), nonchalantly ripping apart door knobs and leaving nail-claw marks on the surfaces (to reach his dear sister, Russia). He predominantly converse in Russian (other than his native Belarusian) and sparse English; he has no other special powers.
