Glad to hear from you- I was starting to wonder if you were still alive. Actually saw Maine State Prison footage on some show on SpikeTV (which the campus now gets, yay!) and thought of you.
Thought isn't the right word. Worried is. First time in a while, as a matter of fact.
Anyway, sorry that your mom had to make V-Day weird, but at least it wasn't you alone who had to deal with it- you had your dad and your sister to help take some of that away.
*hugs*
Think we're ready to talk on AIM again yet? It's much faster than this, after all.
Yeah, I've seen that footage before. Trust me, it's not really as bad as you think. Most of my problems stem from upper management rather than the inmates. I've found that if you treat people like humans, they tend to listen to you better. It's only the people that treat the inmates like savages that usually get assaulted
( ... )
*laughs* I'm sure it is. Believe me, I've got some resolutions of my own... some I'm also struggling with.
Thanks for the add.
Well, as far as the dogs go, I've got 2 things to say. 1, we've actually got a canine training program at the prison for the inmates. A few inmates are in charge of training a few human society dogs for new homes. We've had a chocolate lab and a border collie so far. Both have been awesome dogs. 2, there's a bloodhound training program through the prison during the summer. Last year I got to work with them. There training to track people, if there's ever an escape or a missing person in the community. We work hand in hand with the local police departments, although they've got there own german shepherd program.
I love animals, you know that. Given the opportunity, I'd love to work with them. I guess I just wanna help in general. The whole 'whatever I can do to make a difference' mentality.

You're added back onto my friends' list.
Ooh! Ooh! You should become a canine officer, and get to play with the drug dogs!! I would be jealous if you ever did that.

That's all for now. :)
