halloween is hard because it is so promising. it has never once lived up to how great i hoped it would be. and it's my favorite holiday by far.

4th of july is good too though, because it lacks the expectations and thus the pressure.

I feel like it must have lived up to my expectations several times, otherwise I wouldn't have built it up so high. Definitely a couple of Halloweens in college, and maybe once here in New York, were pretty great. But there's always so much potential and very seldom any follow-through.

I love the 4th of July as well -- as long as you have a barbecue and fireworks, you're covered. Everything else is up to you and the company you keep.

you know, i don't think halloween has ever lived up to my expectations. that's bizarre that i still have them, then. i am an idiot. maybe i will die soon.

i didn't realize i liked the fourth of july until recently. i don't require a barbeque though. that sounds like cooking.
