How do you distinguish between a history where the Goomba exists and the Tim/AntiTim split and where the time between A and C in the upper platform just looks like a photon?

If we could observe the state of the level at various times between A and C, we could see whether the Goomba existed, whether the photon split into a Tim-antiTim pair, etc. It's very easy to tell what happened, because we observed it
