I figured I should break my silence to give a quick update of what's going on with this blog. I'm fed up with the crap that LiveJournal has been pulling recently, so I'm leaving and moving to my own website. The reasons to switch away from LJ have been mounting: ( reasons I no longer like LiveJournal )

WordPress allows for password-protected posts, so I can give only my friends the password, and then only they can see it. For example, (most people can't) see http://blog.coolthingoftheday.com/?p=272 This should let me do any friends-only stuff I want. You're right, however, that I don't often do this.

I see you have an RSS on there, but I'm not sure how to go about adding it to here to read. I'll fiddle around with it later when I have time. :)

ovary, you can't add new RSS feeds to LiveJournal unless you pay for a premium account.

Moreover, remember that LiveJournal deletes old entries from RSS feeds, so if you want to comment on a post and you want your comment to stick around for a long time, put it on blog.coolthingoftheday.com directly. This will be the last post for which I copy comments from one place to another.

I have a paid account. :) Direct comments are the way to go, of course.
