So.... my courses are generally going well...

The Business Communication (was billed as writing but it is more general) is Not bad at all... Im pretty adept with language soo its more or less honing skills I already have.

Accounting makes my brain hurt, but its math, and I was good at math, and will be again with a little practice.

I'd probably say something like "Thanks for the info. I'm a bit concerned, though, that we are being tested on information that isn't covered in the lecture materials. Will this be an issue with future quizzes?"

At this point, the only grade not completed is my final exam... So my concern is there. I have completed the 3 Quizes (this is the last) 3 Submitted Assignments and 3 Discussion Assignments. My worry I can have no clue what to be prepared for if we can be tested on "current trends" with no relation to the curriculum ( ... )

Sorry... missed the "last quiz" detail on first read. I feel for you. I changed high schools in large part because I had a physics teacher with a similar style.

It might not be a bad thing to let him know that you're concerned about the exam potentially covering material that wasn't included in the course materials, citing the "TQM" question on the last quiz as an example.

My final reply... Im worried it is a little confrontational... but I'll survive:

I have been using a basic management text, Human Resources Management in Canada, Canadian Tenth Edition, Gary Dessler and Nina D. Cole; the course text. I have found no mention of TQM, or Total Quality Management in the text, in the publisher's online supplemental site, nor in the lecture materials on the Blackboard Site.

The lack of mention of TQM is likely an oversight. My concern is that other important material may be covered on the final exam, that has been similarly overlooked in the curriculum.

Thank you for the information,
Martin Beecroft

I expect that at some point you'll be able to give course feedback. You can vent there, and give specific examples.

Ya, I will... there is a course evaluation I fill in after the exam. It is just frustrating.

It's always frustrating with a bad course that the evaluations come at the end of the course and not the middle. Also the teachers don't see the comments until a couple of months later. Good luck, buddy!

Weird that now I'm out of school and you're in. :P
