Sounds like someone else I know who has been on a de-friending spree for a while.

The problem is that this former friend of mine will never see what's going on because of her history of self-hurt and escapism, using other people as a crutch to make her happy instead of being happy with herself first. I've offered her the same you are offering now, but after 8 months and seeing that she's repeated her actions toward other friends, I've revoked that offer.

I can't stand when other people just let people walk all over them just for the sake of needing to feel wanted. But it's true, sometimes life have to smack you in the face before you will realize how much of a dumbass you're being.
