I don't think poop gets formed until there are solids in the diet. My daughter had mustardy poop until she was on solids, she was also breastfed only for the 1st 6 months, not sure if poopy for formula babies is different.
from what i gather poop for formula fed babies is completely different to breastfed babies. then again i have not breastfed so am getting this info from here!
It should be a liquid-ish (not too watery, not very solid) dark poop. My son stopped having the yellow poops at about 3 weeks. But he was also formula/breast.
my daughter is on soy she could not keep down the regular formula at all, and her poops have become kind of solid and they turned green but she is having trouble pooping (she strains) and I think its due to the soy, I was told as long as its not pellets its fine. she has an appointment on the 16t so im going to have to ask about it
I was still nursing my son at that age, but from my conversations with other mommies I gather that a dairy-intolerant baby will not have formed bm's on formula that contains any kind of cow's milk at all. You will know when you finally hit on a formula that works for her, because her bm's will become more formed and less offensive almost right away.
