positive to negative vent!

I got a positive pregnancy test yesterday. It was a clear blue digital with conception indicator and what it showed would have been correct for me, 1-2 weeks I'd be max 14 days least 10 days but i suspect the former. I was due on yesterday and i'm usually a morning shower, also a clockwork 30 day cyclist, but i had nothing, i also noticed i hadn't ( Read more... )

I went thru the same darn thing before! By the time I could get down to the free clinic and was told I was in fact prego I was already nearly 2.5 months along.
I had taken a home test and got a positive...couple mornings later do it again to be safe before telling my SO (cuz we had just broken up recently after a big fight..about....not being able to get prego after 2 yrs!!LOL of course wasn't funny then but is now).Anywho, then I get a negative..thinking, ok, whatever we'll see what happens...like 10 strips/tests later, my breasts hurting, light cramping, nausea etc.Turns out my levels were just flipping back and forth for whatever reasons, most likely caused by issues with my thyroid I've been fighting for years.
Good luck...I would make an appointment with ur OB and do another test.Thiers always seem to be more sensative, or even ask to do blood work.

I'm 99 per cent sure you're pregnant. But because you're barely pregnant, your hormone levels are gonna be all over the place. It's no surprise that you got a negative after a positive when you're less than two weeks.

Go see your doc and get a blood test.

Perhaps it was a chemical pregnancy?

Actually... based on your LMP, you'd be 4 weeks :)

Just remember.. there generally isn't such a thing as a falst positive. If you were due yesterday it's possible that the hormone isn't as strong just yet and some tests can detect it before others. Try again in a couple of days.. and I'm sure you'll be seeing more positives! :)

I want to add that the concentration of the HCG in your urine is typically highest in the morning and can fluctuate from day to day. You mentioned the strip tests were taken later in the day. I'd also look into what the sensitivity of the strip tests were. I've purchased tests from the dollar store that were more sensitive than clearblue easy, so I suspect it's just a matter of concentration of HCG in your urine. I for one didn't show positive tests via urine with my first until 7 months. The second baby I showed a faint positive 2 days after my period was due. So it's all wacky.

When in doubt, call a doc and ask for a blood test. Most accurate and will ease your mind. :) Good luck!
