"Upstate" is pretty broad-you could mean Albany or Binghampton or Buffalo. There are a couple of names listed near Rochester on the fat friendly providers list.

Good luck.

I am in Albany, NY and my doctor never gave me any problems about my weight. I started my pregnancy at about 245 lbs, 5'5". On the second or third visit, he gave me the "probably shouldn't gain more than 15 or 20 pounds during pregnancy" speech. However, I did end up gaining at least 55 pounds (a lot of that was fluid retention at the end), but my weight was never once made an issue or even mentioned at my appointments. I did have an issue with my blood pressure being high towards the end, so he kept an eye on that and made sure I did not have pre-eclampsia. But even then, my weight was never mentioned and I was never lectured about gaining too much. Not that you asked, but he also did not push to induce me before my due date, even though my son was measuring large and my BP was high. Let me know if you're interested & I'll send you the info.
