SPN fic: Red 4/10

Ownership Issues: St. Francis of Assisi said ‘it is in giving that we receive’. So, here you go. Merry fucking Christmas. These words are mine, but CW owns the rest of the marbles, and they rule the playground.

Rating: This story is what it is, but if I must: Gen, PG-13 for grown up situations faced by children who ought not to have to face ( Read more... )

I’m generally very bad at commenting on the fic I read, but I just felt I had to tell you that I love this story. It’s one of those stories I have to check for updates three times a day, and when I do find that it’s been updated I giggle rather embarrassingly and make somewhat of a ritual out of making a cup of tea and sitting down to read the next chapter (rather slowly and with little pauses, so it will last a bit longer). I just love the concept with the 3 different timelines evolving simultaneously and I love how detailed the plot is and I love your characterization of Sam and Dean and I love how creepy everything is a nicely understated way (nothing puts me off a story more than authors that spell everything out for the reader).
I can’t explain this without sounding really silly, but you have a way with words that just makes me feel the smell of mud and rain and trees every time I read a new chapter and it makes me so happy. I just love reading stories written by competent authors.

Hey, hi. You know, I'm often in this little cocoon, where I think that only the people commenting are the people reading, which is fine, feel like there's a little band of, say, five readers and then I don't get unnerved or anything. And then a spiffy little comment like yours pops up and I blink rapidly several times and say (usually to lemmypie) "Holy shit, Lemmy, there's other people reading!"

So I'm really glad you've decloaked and all. AND it gives me a cattle-prod jolt of unexpected FEAR that I won't make every chapter as satisfying as the last.

But feet up, pot of tea, and pauses? That's how I write it, so it's good you're reading it that way.

And thanks for the awesome comments.

Totally awesome. Reviewed already at fanfiction.net, but I think their alerts are down, which is why it took me time to find you updated. Will have to check here now as well. I devoured this chapter, long length and all. And am happy the present got so detailed, and the past timelines were shorter-somehow, they are scarier and I want to read with the light on and a big stick by my side. And now more angst to come (girds self). Hope you feel better soon! And um, I could swear one of those bears in your userpics was moving...

Oh, and got this link from a friend, could give you a laugh if you like:

It will give you your name in Goth. I'm a Glitter Girl, lol.Take it easy, and will wait eagerly for the next chapter. Alisa

I really should have stopped at the end of every chapter, but I just got so SUCKED IN. I am in love in a totally want-to-have-its-babies way with this fic. It's just stunning in scope and content and style. Really just GAH and OH and FJKASDL;GH;KFJFJKSA;

Please tell me it will be regularly updated because I need it. I need it like a drug.

Please.

BEAUTIFUL.

Thank you.

You and this fic should be gettin' a room if babies are on the brain. Um, I've heard of pimping out a fic before, but...er....okay, analogy taken to its extreme.

The whole fic is mapped out and will be 10 chapters; chapter 5 is just back from beta, round 1 (I usually give them two kicks at the proverbial can), so I'll probably post...oh, I don't know...Friday? Maybe? Although Friday is usually given over to the squeefest after Thursday broadcast. So...Saturday morning?

Yeah, right, cause I've got some RL stuff in the meantime, too. But soon! It's written!

And thank you for the way nice comments.

if it was a fucking zombie or other monster, Sam reckoned he’d direct it to Dad’s bedroom and let them work it out.
Your writing is so damn *enjoyable*.

When you mentioned the old women in funny hats in the last chap, I thought you were talking about the Raging Grannies! Great idea for an OC.
He’d been dismissed from a tree.

Yep, I have a direct connection to Raging Grannies (my MIL), so it was an obvious link to make here. And yeah, Dean got himself sent out of a...tree. Loser.

Oooh, I KNOW what you mean about the weechesters. I've never really been interested. But here, where it kinda plays off what's going on in the present, that kinda holds my interest long enough to write it (hey, it sounds as though I don't like kids. LOVE kids, just...I work with 'em, have 'em...don't need them in my off time, right?)

Your comments are making me blush, seriously. You sound like a crazed stalker, a drugpusher, an obsessed fan a very nice person. You do know I've posted up to chapter 6, right? Working on seven as we speak/type. Sortof. Got this show I watch on Thursdays.

Yeah, i know what you mean about the whole kids thing, some people seem to think that when you have kids, you LOVE kids .. and well .. bleah on that ..
I like -my- kid... don't need to write about other folk's spawns or have them invading my ME time.

I don't mean to make you blush, i'm not altogether familiar with the etiquette of posting for fics, so i might have been a little .. erm... heavy handed, but the intent was there.

And HEY .. new fic.. i'm so slow .. i had only hunted thru people's memory pages, and i didn't even THINK to look in the current blogs .. (duh)
so!
time to read!

oh, and .. are we going to get more Sam and Dean together time?
pretty please? .. i miss them when they are apart.

Hey -- no breech of etiquette, my dear. I'm simply blushing is all.

Part of the exquisite torture is in keeping the boys APART, don't you think? But no fears, more on that front later in the fic.
