Not really much of any News news, if you know what I mean, but I'm writing again, so that's good. Waiting. Always with the waiting. Weather's making me feel like a consumptive heroine from a Victorian novel. Traveling a lot, which is great, but time-consuming.

How's tricks?

I was just wondering about Dead Roads (or is it DeadRoads?) yesterday. Selfishly, I hope it sees the light of day soon!

Wouldn't that be grand? A miraculous appearance one day?

Confusingly, I've always called it Deadroads (one word, as the term is used as such within the novel) but Night Shade distributor wanted it two words, so two words it became, which I'm okay with. But that's why I go back and forth.

Any clue when Deadroads (I'll follow your lead!) will hit the public? I was just listening to a podcast with another ex-Nightshade author and I guess his property is being acquired by Skyhorse Publishing, along with a good chunk of Nightshade's other assets.

I sure hope they stay true to Night Shade's vision. I really loved what that company did for cool books that pushed genres and twisted tropes with skill, not just sensationalism. I was really sad to hear about their trials.

And I certainly feel for the authors who got caught in the fall-out! Super frustrating.

We have summer, but it is *not* like last year's summer, which started around March and soared into triple-digits and stayed there. This summer is actually *pleasant*.

I like your website - easy on the eyes, easy to read. I know nothing about programming, so, i have no other thoughts. :)

That's great! I've never been to Las Vegas, but I have the feeling I would like it. Also, you can actually climb in a car and drive to interesting places around there. I am going to London-Vienna-Budapest this summer (oh, pinch me), just for kicks. Work is (finally) slowing down somewhat. It had been NUTS from December straight through to about May. Now I just get to graduate kids, and think about a lovely summer ahead. Oh, bliss.
