In essence I agree with you. However, sometimes you have to remember your past to either refer to it, remember how not to do something (learn from your mistakes) or just remember the past nostalgically. Nostalgia will never get you forward but it is nice remembering the past.

however, I think you were trying to say don't live in the past, and that I totally agree with. Nostalgia only works to a point.
