I finally took a closer look at what I have been eating all week.
I figured if I delved too closely while I was getting used to is "delicious nutty flavour" I'd chuck in the whole endeavour.
ReduceXS is a slightly damp powder I mix with wather and take twice a day as a meal relacement.. you have to drink it immediately as it thickens alarmingly if left standing around. Kind of like blokes at a bar in that regards. To be honest I have to say that it isn't too bad. I've opted for the vamilla flavour and it's not too dissimilar to the tetrapak'd milk drinks devoured by the litre in schools and government departments. It does specifiy that you drink seven or eight litres of water with every glass of the stuff and offers vagues wanings about concrete mixers left parked over night.
According to the web sites: "ReduceXS is a low fat meal replacement that contains special dietary fibres and polysaccarides (Volumax Polysaccharide Complex) with the dual role of providing the feeling of fullness that actually helps you eat less and also slows the absorption of carbohydrates and fats, to avoid the highs and lows of dieting. ReduceXS is a functional meal replacment that contains protein, carbohydrates, fat and fibre in an ideal ration, plus a range of vitamins and minerals. Up to two meals per day can substitute meals to assist in reducing calorie intake. ReduceXS is sweetened with low GI natural sweeteners, including xylitol. Does not contain artificial sweeteners or flavours. VoluMax - Found in ReduceEX, it's a blend of soluble polysaccharides that have been combined in specific rations to provide a sense of fullness, balance blood sugar levels and reduce the production of appetite hormaones. VoluMax is high in fibre, thus improving digestive function and protecting the colon."
Flax Seed Oil AKA "the delicious nutty flavour". This has to be kept refrigerated to prevent it taking up arms and invading the Bali. The benefits of this substance are documented by diverse
enthusists, none of which I found encouraging. How ever the local Chemist , who looks sane if a tad keen, stocks it and seemed to be vaguely encouraging of its use, so i am having about 30 mls a day, either straight up, or secreted, guerilla style in salads and over vegitables.
However the most telling information is the name. It has, like Cervina, Kiwi Fruit and Social Credit, been re-branded. Flax Seed Oil is the new name. The old name is Linseed Oil, a substance with which I am familiar. For in this guise my dear old dad applied it lovingly to cricket bats to stop them splitting and to make the willow hard and impervious to the high speed impact of leather. This explains much, and leaves me wondering if i'll develop a natural sense of spin, or crack the ton. It seems an option some days.
Nameless Chinese Herbs The Chinese herbs carefully blended and ground by Fazaneh, and drunk by me morning make me look forward to the "delightful nutty flavour". There was no false advertising here, and they could explain a tendency towards optimism I have noted in many Chinese. Because almost anything looks better after drinking this brew.
