Having received the last college decision that I was expecting (from Princeton--wait-listed), the debate is on. University of Chicago vs. Swarthmore. I, as of yet, am undecided.

I would love to hear all of your opinions. Have at it, please.

I vote Swarthmore, but I don't much like the city.

Swarthmore:
-not pretentious
-intellectual environment
-"most beautiful" campus
-outside of phili
-amazing professors
-safe neighborhood
-next to lots of women's colleges... so yeah.
-intellectual suicide (but you can handle it)

bad:
-Swarthmore, Penn is almost the middle of nowhere

U Chicago
-party scene probably much better
-similar academics
-great politics/law (if you're interested)
-urban (you won't get bored)
-great guests speakers
-diverse student body

bad:
-intro classes have lots of students
-urban (you might get shot is the stereotype)

U of C is a fantastic school, but it's where "fun goes to die."
