i was driving to run a few errands this morning as I'm driving i smell smoke. the headlight switch was smoking. so i shut off the headlights and smoke goes away. i go to the parts store by the house and ask if they have the switch in stock they do. i open door of truck to the smell of smoke again. the switch had shorted, well i got it home by

yes it could have the switch was melting
