Dream | 05 | You've heard the footsteps at night too, haven't you?

Aug 27, 2009 19:26

Pitter patter. Pitter patter. The sound of footsteps.

Rena slowly walks down a long dark hallway. But she feels that she is not alone.

Pitter patter. Pitter patter.

She quickly turns around. Nothing there but the hallway she just walked through. She pauses for a moment before continuing her walk.

-------------------------
Drip. Drip.

Rena is sitting in her bath tub staring off into space blankly. Her arm lazily hangs over the edge as bits of blood fall from the ends of her fingertips. Her other arm is half floating in the water, the cuts on her wrists have finally stopped bleeding.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Rena stares at her wrist for a while. Suddenly, the cuts start bleeding again and maggots quickly crawl out of them as well. Rena screams loudly and frantically tries to claw them out with her other hand.

I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry--

Rena stops. Her eyes go wide as she sees a sudden image flash before her. And then it’s gone, along with the maggots.

"...O-oyashrio-sama?"

Pitter patter. Pitter Patter...

-------------------------------------
[Needless to say, the noises the worms are making at night have not been helping Rena's ability to sleep. They've been bringing back memories of other noises she used to often hear at night.
She tosses and turns in her sleep, clutching her head tightly]

Make it stop...please...m-make them stop...

((OOC: Quick dream before I have to get off again. Basically, anyone who knows about the Hinamizawa syndrome (so only Keiichi right now) will be able to see the maggots and blood flowing out of her wrists. To everyone else it'll just look like she's scratching her arms. And yes, the water does conveniently cover up everything in the bathtub >.>))

memories, dream, footsteps, oyashiro-sama, you got maggots in your blood?
