Dream | 10 | Happy Birthday

Jul 20, 2010 15:04

Warnings: None
Dream Effect: Overall feelings of happiness with a lingering feeling of disappointment.

The first thing the viewer sees is a young girl sitting alone at a dinning table, looking very excited. Her legs swing back and forth beneath her in anticipation. The door leading to the kitchen swings open and a man in his late 30’s wearing glasses comes out holding a birthday cake with 8 candles on it.

"Happy Birthday, Reina!" the man says to the girl as he places to cake in front of her. The girl’s eyes light up as she looks at the frosting covered cake. "Wow! It’s such a cute cake~! Thank you so much, Father!"

"Haha, it was only fair that I got the cutest cake for my cute daughter. Now blow out the candles and make a wish."

She leans over the table to blow out the candles but stops herself and looks around the room. “Where’s Mother?” the girl asks, causing a small frown to appear on her father’s face. “Your mother had to stay late at the office again tonight, Reina. She said she felt really bad about missing your birthday and will make it up to you later.”

"Oh..." she says, looking down with a frown on her face. She pauses before looking back up with a big smile on her face. "Then Reina and Father will just have to celebrate even more to make up for Mother’s absence!"

At that, the girl finally blows out the candles. Her father cuts the cake and they enjoy eating it together, just the two of them.

[Rena opens her eyes and checks the date on the dreamberry] Only one more day until my birthday, one more day.

[Suddenly over on her end-table she notices her small figurines of her father and friends from back home glowing and Rena herself suddenly starts to feel stronger.]

Huh...?

mother, dream, at least father cared, birthday, yay for cake!
