I'm not sure how much everyone pays attention to the news, but the Secretary of Defense has announced that we will be extending all military tours to Iraq from 12 months to 15. So now Mike will be gone until November. I'm being robbed of my time with him and he is being slowly robbed of his sanity. Complete bullshit. I have so much railing

dude, if you can't rant and whine on lj, where can you? we do it here so all the people who see us every day don't kill us. and everyone on here and just skip it if they want, so it doesn't hurt anyone and allows you to cuss out our asshole warlords until you can't think of anymore words.

I pay attention a lot and it was not "all military tours" from what I gathered but just the "Amry tour" right?

Either way, it is complete bullshit and sucks totally

I heard it the ARMY tours were extended to 15 months the other day. I instantly thought of you. I thought about writing you but then was afraid it would only hurt you more. I've always been supportive of the military effort but I am so strongly against this. Many of these men are on their 2nd or 3rd tour. They and their loved ones have sacrificed too much. I supported a surge but not if this was necessary. I'm so sorry. I think it's unfair. I really believe that you can work a willing horse to death and that is exactly what the DOD is doing. I hope that this gets enough attention that it deserves - but unfortunately Anna Nicole and Imus are still stealing the spotlight. This has only been a small blip on the screen and it's really tragic.

Aubri is right... please use LJ as a place to rant and express your feelings. That's what it's for. We love you so much and I'm here for you vent to.
